Equine Colors- The Silver Gene by Kholran Equine Colors- The Silver Gene by Kholran
Part 5.

The Silver gene and it's effects on black and bay. Silver does not affect red pigment, so a chestnut horse that carries silver does not express the gene. They look like normal chestnut horses.

if it doesn't affect the red gene, would a silver dapple red dun show it?

Nope. It would appear to be Red Dun, with no evidence of Silver unless the gene passed along to a black-based foal.

Very nice :) I enjoyed looking through these! Is there any chance you play Equine-Ranch?

Nope, Virtual Horse Ranch is the only online horse game I'm involved with :)
